Anyone have AutoX experience with Hawk HPS 5.0 Pads?

Braking lowers your speed, therefore increasing lap times and at the same time
showing weakness to your competitors.
The key to winning an AutoX is to REMOVE your brake pads, thus adding lightness and improving speeds. Duh.

I ran them on the TA last season. Great pads and surprisingly less dusty than whatever was on it before.

I’ll let you know after my next event. I wanted to get them installed before this weekends events but didn’t get around to it so I’ll get to it this week and run next weekend if I can, though that may be unlikely.
I bought them based on good reviews online. The consensus seems to be that they are the best option that doesn’t really affect streetability (low dust, not hard on rotors, no noise) while improving performance.

Yeah, that’s pretty much why I want to make the switch and not go full on track day pads. I’m thinking the 5.0's with EBC rotors.

I guess I should clarify, they’re still on the TA. I added some cryo-treated rotors and high temp fluid at the beginning of this season...
... then bought a Miata two weeks before our first event.
So... t hey’re great on the street too!

I’ve run the older version that compound on autocross vehicles in the past, and the new version on the vette. To the extent that brake pads matter at all in autocross, they’re a good choice. More initial bite than an OEM type pad and forgiving modulation while not being unpleasant to live with on the street and easy on rotors. Stoptech’s sport pads offer similar performance at cheaper price point, but they’ll dust more than the Hawk’s HPS pads.
This is to say they’re my pad of choice on sporty, street-driven vehicles.
